Are You Interested in Becoming a Mystery Reader?
What is a mystery reader?
A mystery reader is a parent, grandparent, aunt or uncle that come into the classroom and read aloud one of their favorite children’s books. The week leading up to your visit, the students will receive clues about you. At the end of the week, the mystery reader surprises the children with a great book!
How do I become a mystery reader?
Please fill out the attached questionnaire so that I may create clues for the children. You may complete the questionnaire and write down a date that works best for you; or you can contact me at a later time.
Why mystery readers?
Mystery readers are an exciting way for students to learn that readers are all around us! My hope is that we will have a diverse mix of family members and school faculty/staff members. The students will also enjoy reading the clues and making predictions.
